Glass failure exhibit itself in the form of colour change, staining, cracks and shattering. Other non-visible failure can be failure to function to provide protection from radiant heat. Poor manufacturing and installation lead to broken and shattering of glass. Investigation for broken glass is often carried out to determine cause of failure using on-site microscope, polariscope and other laboratory tests.
